The challenges of the pandemic forced us all to work in new ways, and in BMA Library’s instance, this meant reviewing strategy and taking the opportunity to improve services for members.

We have now successfully set up access to a large number of e-journals on the Ovid Medline and Embase databases, offering BMA members free access to full text articles.
Medline is an extensive and world leading bibliographical database covering biomedicine. It is owned by the National Library of Medline in the United States and holds over 23 million references, from over 5,000 journals.
Embase is a biomedical and pharmacological bibliographic database of published literature. It is produced by Elsevier and contains over 32 million records from over 8,500 currently published journals.
As a BMA member you can search Medline and Embase directly. Currently we have journal collections from the following publishers available on Ovid Medline and Embase:

- Elsevier
- Karger
- Royal College of Surgeons
- Sage
- SpringerNature
- Taylor & Francis
- Wiley
