The BMA’s Annual Representative Meeting (ARM) is currently taking place in Bournemouth – Sunday, 25 June to Thursday, 29 June 2017.

We have put together a booklet highlighting the key titles we hold in our printed books collection on the following topics:

  • Bullying and harassment
  • Wellbeing and mental health
  • Careers and FY and Junior Doctors

Printed copies of this booklet are available in both the ‘Talking Points’ and the ‘Development’ zones of the ARM.

If you are an FY1 or an FY2 doctor, and a member of the British Medical Association, there are a wealth of services available to you from the BMA Library.

First off, you can make use of our great Postal Loans Service completely free of charge. With this service you can borrow up to 15 hard copy books from us at a time, as well as 15 DVDs, with both the cost of posting them to you, and their return, covered by us. (Each book/DVD includes a free A5 size return address label that enables you to post it back to us free of charge.) Secondly, there is our E-Journals Collection of over 300 titles, accessible 24/7 no matter where you are located in the UK. The collection includes several key titles, including The Lancet, JAMA, and Medical Teacher. Third up, there is our E-Books Collection of more than 1,300 titles, which are also accessible 24/7 no matter where you are located in the UK. Every BMA member has access to all of these titles, but you will probably be mainly interested in accessing those on our List of E-Books for Junior Doctors.
